How to reserve an IP with Ekire console

Hello everybody, maybe, someday, you’ll need to reserve an IP to deal with it as a static IP and even switch it between your Ekire servers.. But how to do that?

The Way

Unfortunately, there’s no direct option to reserve an IP through Ekire console at the moment of posting this blog. However, it’s in our roadmap and will be implemented very soon. But you can do so with this trick. Follow steps:

  1. Add an additional IP to a server: get an additional IP (you’ll reserve this one) for any of your servers, as long as the IP persists as an additional IP it will never be released.
  2. Now want to link it with another server? Just: delete this additional IP from its original server then navigate to the server you want to link it with and “Buy additional IP”.
  3. And.. BOOOM you got the same IP for this server.

This way you can reserve any IPs you want and even switch them between your servers easily without the hassle of networks.

NOTE: you need to do this process sequentially and fast because if you didn’t buy it directly after releasing it may get reserved by another customer.
